Raw Shell Cordovan Coin Pouch

Today I made a shell cordovan coin pouch. I’ve had these cordovan shells for a while, and I always liked the texture of the unfinished side, so I thought I’d try making the coin pouch inside out. The reverse side of the shell has a slightly nubuck feel.

The cordovan really is nice to work with. It’s supple and easy to cut, yet somehow has strength.

The biggest problem I have is that my hardware isn’t quite what I was after. The coin conch and the snap buttons take up a lot of vertical space.
