Winston Churchill Style

The Imperial War Museum have a multimedia display of Winston Churchill photographs online. The component is a Silverlight DeepZoom, so you may need a browser plugin. Somehow my childhood mind has mixed Winston Churchill with W.C.Fields. So Churchill has always had a drunken rapscallion edge for no reason. Anyway, browsing the photographs of Churchill’s life, [...]

FULLCOUNT JEANS (updated)

I’m selling a few pairs of FULLCOUNT jeans. I’ve put up 1108 Straight Slim size 32, two pairs of the 1246 bushpants (size 30, and 32) and three pairs of the 1105 Natural Indigo relaxed fit (size 29, 30, and 33). They’re pretty good denim, so be quick. Here’s a good comparison shot of the [...]

Eagle Eye

Whilst on holidays I got to watch Eagle Eye. It’s an average movie which stars a pea coat. Actually, it’s Shia LaBeouf getting ordered around by a female voice on the phone.

Japanese Workwear

The Japanese are getting famous for re-making American workwear, so it was interesting to read a bit about the more traditional Japanese workwear that you see in Japan. http://jaerik.livejournal.com/457170.html The workers wear very baggy trousers which look like they will get caught on nails or snag the worker into some machinery.

Ironed

My Kapital TP-2 jeans needed a wash after more than a week in Malaysia.  I put them in for a wash with the other dirty clothes. My Malaysian in-laws have a maid who does the washing. Anyway, they came out nice and clean, with a crease ironed down the middle of each leg.  Hah.  I [...]

Tropical Lattitudes – Chambray Baby Jumpsuit

I’m on holiday in Malaysia and Singapore.  So there won’t be many blog updates over the next few weeks. Tropical weather isn’t conducive to wearing denim.  Sweat makes me want to wash my jeans daily.  I also like to cuff to a 3/4 length for comfort. I did get this chambray shirt jump suit for [...]

Design your own jeans – IndiDenim

Design your own jeans online at this site: www.indidenim.com I doubt that I’ll try it, but it’s an interesting idea.

Red Bull Stratos (videos)

In 1960 Joseph Kittinger rode a specially designed helium balloon higher than anyone had been.  At the top of the atmosphere (102,800 feet/31 km) he looked around and then jumped off.  He free fell at close to the speed of sound (614 mph/988 kph) and then parachuted to the ground. Felix Baumgartner aims to break [...]

Frankenstein

Studio D’Artisan make a jean that is a mix of left-hand twill and right-hand twill.  It’s a nice combination of Levis versus Lee in one package. Studio D’Artisan SP-005 23oz Crazy Jeans But sometimes this concept can be taken too far, and a freakish monster – which should never have been born – is released [...]
